I am currently pursuing my PhD at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Beihang University, China, under the supervision of Prof Zhoujun Li. My research interests include social network analysis, information retrieval and the semantic web.

During my candidature, I am thankful to have had the chance to travel widely. I did two internships, one with the NExT Search Center at the National University of Singapore under Prof Tat-Seng Chua, and the other with the Noah's Ark Lab at Huawei Technologies (Hong Kong) under chief scientist Dr Hang Li.

              Using deep learning, leveraged human cognitive behavior to recommend news.

          Microblog brand tracking

              Built a data mining module with the use of Python, which leverages on the API calls of many microblog platforms.
              Implemented a filtering mechanism to remove noisy irrelevant tweets with Java.
              Worked on emerging topic detection using semi-supervised machine learning.
              Novel crawling strategy making use of emerging keywords is able to maximize the amount of tweets mined for targeted brands.
